On the 23^rd of August the nicely decorated raft was christened whitnessed be a large number of invited guests, media and the winner of the lottery.

Wolfgang Thie pictured the idea of the party raft and thanked the shipyard for the close collaboration as well as his family for the support and his employees for the well done work. Then he passed the microphone to his son Danny, who will soon start soon his studies of brewing and beverage technologies in Weihenstephan. Which is one of the reasons why he has got a special interest in the "swimming beer garden".

Danny Thie christened the raft with champagne and beer on the name of "König Ludwig".

Afterwards Karl Heinz Blawert, honorary chairman of the Federal Association of the self-employed workers department of inland navigation, chimed the ship's bell with a special signal "In God's name".

Shortly after the guests enjoyed the round trip with the party raft in a relaxing atmosphere, tasty barbecue and beer was offered.
